Fruit Cocktail Bars

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups sugar


2 eggs


beat togehter on high speed until light and fluffy.


Add


2 1/4 cups flour


1 tsp vanilla extract


1 can fruit cocktail


1 1/2 tsps soda


1/2 tsp salt


Beat at medium speed until well blended, scraping sides and bottom of bowl.


Spread in greased and floured 15101 jello roll pans.


Sprinkle 1 1/3 cups angel flake coconut and 1/2 cups chopped walnuts over batter.


Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees or until golden.


While hot, drizzle with glaze.


Glaze:


Combine in a saucepan


1/4 cup evaporated mild


1/2 tsp vanilla


3/4 cup sugar


1/2 cup butter


Bring to a boil.


Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.


Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.


Cool thouroughly and cut into bars.
